So today is kind of the first(ish) day of my new journey. I mean tomorrow night Tom and I are going out with friends to Cane Rosso. Pizzzaaa is on the menu and I will be eating that pizza. I can't allow myself to feel bad about indulging 20% of the time. Remember, 80/20. So it will only be day two of my health journey and I'll be putting a pizza in my pie hole. It's going to be real good! I'm excited and hungry and is that drool?? Sure is!!!
Last week me and my boyfriend Tom spent the whole week traveling Texas and eating everything in our path. {Twas spring break}. By the time we got home we were both feeling blaaahh. That's the best way to express those feels. We felt fat and gross and in need of a serious cleanse or fast or something.
So it just hit us that it was time we started getting healthier. I mean a week of vacay food is allowed in any healthy diet but the problem is that we're not really healthy the other half of the time. So it's all just been adding up and well, it's time for a big change.
Soooo today, day one, i bought VITAMINS. Ha! Never ever in my life have i sought out vitamins. But i've been denying my body so much valuable nutrition for so long that I felt like it was time to see what these babies are all about. So I did some research and I found that Multivitamins are a good place to start. I also know that my mom takes fish oil pills on the regular. So I went up to Walgreens and I found this pack of vitamins.
There's a Multivitamin and fish oil. Check & check! This looked like a good place to start right? Maybe? I don't actually know but I'm going to take them for 30 days and see if I feel or see a difference.
I'm also looking for some Apple cider vinegar tablets. I've heard amazing things about ACV and I'm really excited to try it out. I despised the idea of drinking it so I'm so pumped there are tablets. I'm also considering getting some coconut oil tablets because I've heard about some amazing benefits that come with coconut oil as well.
So once I get those I will post which ones I purchased.
So that takes care of the vitamins.
Food is obviously the hardest bit here. I went online and found myself over at choosemyplate.gov.
They actually had a pretty great chart that explained what I needed to have in my diet and how much of it I needed to have. This was obviously after they insulted me by telling me how overweight and unhealthy i am. I mean it's true but it's hard to hear at the same time. Anywaysss, I really liked the chart it created for me. I need the basic things like veggies and fruit, protein and grains and dairy. I just need to limit it a bit and have more of some than others. Like more veggies than chicken...ugh...only in my nightmares...
So vitamins and food have been tackled, sort of. Now I need to figure out a solid workout plan. I plan on doing some interval running three times a week as well as Kayla Itsines BBG. If you've never heard of Kayla you'll want to look her up. Her fitness program is spot on and so hard but so amazing. I did it for a month a few months ago but I got a bit lazy and stopped. Not this time around ;) Check that out if you're looking for ways to workout Okkkk so that's it for now. I plan on posting my progress and failures as I go along.
